Beshear also announced the activation of price gouging laws and emergency prescription assistance to support those impacted by the storms

According to the Laurel County Fire Department, Major Roger Leslie Leatherman was fatally injured while responding to the tornado. Leatherman was described as a dedicated public servant for nearly 40 years who answered the call to protect and help others.

Several areas of Laurel County, including the Sunshine Hills area, were struck by a reported tornado late Friday night. See video footage.
