For a brief moment it looked like Taylor Fritz's Independence Day celebrations could be ruined but some final-set fireworks propelled the American into the last 16 at Wimbledon with a 6-4 6-3 6-7(5) 6-1 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Friday.

Taylor Fritz continued his march in the men's singles section of Wimbledon 2025 as he channelled his inner energy to move past Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Fritz has faced Davidovich Fokina twice already in 2025, and the two are 1-1 against each other. Fritz defeated Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the Eastbourne tournament, before Davidovich Fokina won 7-6, 7-6 at Delray Beach.
