DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Borussia Dortmund has fired technical director Sven Mislintat after nine months as the club seeks to turn around a season which has seen last season's Champions League runner-up fall to 11th in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund have sacked technical director Sven Mislintat after 10 months in the role. The 52-year-old’s departure comes two weeks after the club parted ways with head coach Nuri Sahin following a run of just one win in nine matches, with Dortmund subsequently appointing Niko Kova c in the hotseat.

Sven Mislintat has been officially relieved of his duties as Borussia Dortmund's technical director. The Black and Yellows confirmed the 52-year-old's departure on Thursday. In a short statement,
