San Diego Padres All-Star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. has decided whether he will participate in the first Home Run Derby of his career this season.

The San Diego Padres are sending Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado to the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta. For Tatis, this honor came as a surprise, evident by the story he told Dennis Lin of The Athletic after getting the news of his All-Star selection.

It should not take long for Tatis Jr. to rediscover himself in the batter’s box. Everyone should be encouraged that he is hitting the ball extremely hard all season. Tatis Jr.’s hard-hit rate is currently 50.0%, which is much higher than the league average (39.4%). However, it is not close to his career-best mark of 62.2% in 2020.
