Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz latest news and return dates - Mikel Arteta has confirmed the worst possible news ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League round of 16 ties
Mikel Arteta has ruled Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli out until April, meaning Arsenal will enter the Champions League last 16 without any of their first-choice front four. Saka has been missing since undergoing hamstring surgery in December and Martinelli has been absent since the start of February.
Latest on Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and MoreIt’s crunch time for Arsenal as their Premier League title hopes hang by a thread after suffering a shock 0-1 home defeat to West
David Raya: “Bukayo [Saka] is doing very well, I see him every morning, he’s always happy, always with a smile on his face. Kai [Havertz], I saw him two days ago, he just came back from the surgery, but he’s very optimistic.” 🎥 @SeamanPodcast pic.twitter.com/i00D764w1b
Arsenal’s attack looks blunt without the injured quartet of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz. Jesus and Havertz are out for the rest of the season and Arteta has confirmed Martinelli and Saka will not be back before the March international break.
Arsenal suffered yet another hamstring injury when Gabriel Martinelli was injured against Newcastle on February 5. He departed during the first half of action at St James' Park and, like Saka, Arsenal are hopeful he returns following the next international break in late March.
Mikel Arteta’s squad has been hampered by injuries to key players, and the latest updates will do little to lift spirits at the Emirates. With both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli sidelined, Arsenal’s attacking options are looking increasingly stretched ahead of their crucial round of 16 ties.
