CenterPoint Energy announced on Saturday that power has been restored to all customers who were impacted by the winter storm.
The storm severely impacted area trees and vegetation and CenterPoint Energy’s electric system, causing more than 61,000 of our customers to lose power at the peak of the outage. Damage resulted from ice accumulation and falling trees and limbs on power lines,
CenterPoint has deployed internal, contractor and mutual aid resources to assist with power restoration efforts.
Given the significant progress, the company now believes it will be substantially complete with restoration efforts by the end of the day on Thursday, possibly sooner.
Power outages are going to last for days. A Centerpoint Energy spokesman pounded home that point by repeating it several times early Monday afternoon.
