INDIANA (WTHI) - Indiana National Guard soldiers will deploy to support the 60th Presidential Inauguration. They will be traveling to Washington, D.C., to support the event on Monday. Indiana Guardsmen will be joining around 8,000 National Guard service members from 40 states and territories.

The National Guard in Indiana has been activated to help law enforcement and motorists after a huge winter storm is bringing Polar Vortex-level cold to a swath of the U.S. from the Rockies to the East Coast.

Sunday morning, the Indiana National Guard announced it had been activated by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in response to the winter storm warning across the state. 122 Hoosier Guardsmen are working across seven armories in Bedford, Edinburgh, Evansville, Indianapolis, New Albany, Shelbyville and Washington.
