Nevada residents are kicking off 2025 with a special election. Longtime city councilman Brian Hanson was appointed and sworn in Monday to be Nevada’s next mayor, but a petition was filed for a special election for the open mayoral position as well as the Ward 2 seat on the council.
The Nevada GOP has announced the re-election of Michael McDonald as Western Regional Vice Chair. McDonald was re-elected by unanimous vote. McDonald will continue to serve on the RNC Executive Committee and work with other western states to elect Republicans in 2026.
