Instead of a $20 or $30 standalone plan, Google added a few dollars to its business tiers and applied the Gemini generative AI to all plans.

There is a catch, though: as it makes this change, Google is increasing the price of all Workspace plans. Jerry Dischler, Google’s president of cloud applications, tells me companies will pay roughly $2 more per month per user for the AI-enabled Workspace than they were paying before.

Google stated in the early hours of Wednesday that all AI features in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet are now free of charge for Workspace customers, though the plan will cost an additional $2 per month per person.

Google has made its AI tools, including the Gemini bot, free for Workspace Business and Enterprise plans, removing the Rs 1,500 per month fee. However, subscription costs will rise by Rs 125 per user.
