View is heading into its second weekend and is debating a topic inspired by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. On the most recent episode of the Bravo reality series, Dorit Kemsley took issue with Kyle Richards about still exchanging messages with her estranged husband.

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin responded to the insurance fraud allegations facing her husband on Tuesday, arguing the company who filed the lawsuit had a history of frivolous claims.

"We have put American Transit on notice and will file a five-million-dollar counter lawsuit for their defamatory claims," Hostin said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE

Dr. Hostin was accused in a Dec. 17, 2024 suit filed by American Transit of getting “kickbacks” for surgeries and fraudulently billing the company, which insures taxi companies, Uber and Lyft drivers, among others. He is one of 200 defendants named in the suit.

Hostin made the quip during a discussion about Behar tracing her family history on the PBS series "Finding Your Roots."

The Hostins blasted the lawsuit as “baseless” and could seek $5 million in damages in a potential countersuit, their lawyer says.

Sunny Hostin‘s personal life has recently become a topic of great interest. This is due to her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, being named in a federal lawsuit accusing him of insurance fraud. The View co-host herself has also been making headlines due to her comparison of the January 6 riots to the holocaust.

Emmanuel is an orthopedic surgeon based out of New York City with nearly 29 years of experience. He graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1996 and is the owner of Hostin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a practice the surgeon established in Manhattan in 2006.
